AMR Leaders Program for Tertiary Students in Africa

AMR Leaders Program for Tertiary Students in Africa

The AMR Leaders Program for Tertiary Students in Africa is a program aimed at building the capacity of tertiary-level students to mitigate AMR through holistic training, co-creation of interventions, and supporting them to establish sustainable AMR initiatives within their institutions.  The hybrid program employs a systems approach and involves; virtual lecturers, webinars, workshops, group discussions, iterative constructive sessions, and experiential learning.

Students are equipped with the relevant leadership skills and challenged to ideate, design, and implement potentially feasible solutions. This promotes experiential learning and triggers translation of their learning to best practices. At the end of the program, most of the students are usually highly knowledgeable and motivated to initiate potential AMR interventions in their respective settings.

The program, now in its second phase, is being implemented by ReAct Africa in collaboration with Generational Stewards for Antimicrobials and Zihi Institute.
